Reflections- M15

1. What were you expectations for this course and where they met?
My expectations were met for this course because I was interested in learning more about different forms of art, various types of media, and more about art history.

2. Now that you've been through this course, What is art? How would you define it now compared to your intial posting?
I defined art as a form of expression using music, dance, writing, drawing, or painting. Art is a creative skill that is used to portray visual representation, imagination, or even emotion. I would still identify art as a form of expression because it is a way for people to communicate their feelings or thoughts, and imagination.

3. Who was your favorite artist in your original posting and who is your favorite visual artist now? If there is a difference, why do you think so? If you have the same favorite artist, why do you think so?

My favorite music and poetry artist is Reyna Biddy, and it honestly still remains Biddy because I am able to relate to a lot of her work and her experiences. While completing one of the projects, I remembered that my favorite artist used to be Frida Kahlo, she was a Mexican painter that painted many self-portraits and works about her culture. The main thing I liked about her work is that often times she painted things that were happening in her life that represented her story, and it carried a legacy because her story still resides with her different works of art.

4. Now that you've completed this course, how do you feel about taking an online course? Is your answer the same as it was in your first posting? How is it the same or different?

I think this online course with very manageable in the beginning of the semester compared to others that I have taken. However, once COVID-19 caused all things to be remotely completed it did make taking this course a bit difficult. I say that it was difficult because it was a lot trying to manage my actually major core classes and an online elective. Although this class was already online, my main core classes workload was already a bit much and to add the elective course work too was a lot.
