Throughout the video, color is identified as a visual perception essentially described by the things that we wear, eat, and our emotions similar to a language. Color is also known as an illusion that typically confuses the human visual system based on objects, shapes, and patterns. The photosensitive ganglion cells in our eyes regulate the time of the day and information. These cells have an effect on sleep structures and alertness for most people in which color cells are developed the first three months as a baby. People that are color blind learn colors by shades of grey and have difficulty with daily things like clothes, makeup, the time of day, and even foods.
The video discussed ways that emotions can be described or associated with colors. The reason that emotional reactions are associated with colors is because it is altered based on a person's experiences and development. For instance, red typically increases a person's awareness, hormones, and could alter aggressive behaviors. Blue is associated as a calm mood, cool, and warmer energy. Furthermore, the theoretical aspect of color about it being different perceptions based on culture was fascinating because I was not aware that other cultures do not describe colors the same as most English Americans does. It was interesting to see how the culture from the video describe certain objects like the sky, water, or milk by different colors than color ways Americans associate them with. Also, the way that women emotional awareness is more sensitive than men which effects the way that women perceive certain colors was impressing. It was relatable to see in the video which emotions women were associating with colors like blue is sadness, red is anger, and yellow is happy; compared to the answers that men shared in the video.
